Itinerary
One Day Excursion
Your journey begins with a scenic drive south from Diani or Mombasa to the charming coastal village of Shimoni, where traditional dhow boats await. Step aboard and set sail across crystal-clear waters, keeping your eyes on the horizon for pods of bottlenose dolphins that often swim alongside the boat. These playful creatures are a highlight of the day, frequently spotted in the calm channels leading into Kisite Marine Park.
Once anchored near the coral gardens, dive in for a guided snorkeling session among vibrant coral reefs teeming with tropical fish, sea turtles, and other marine life. The water is warm, clear, and alive with color—ideal for both beginners and experienced snorkelers.
After your swim, sail to Wasini Island, where a Swahili-style seafood lunch awaits, served with fresh coconut rice and local delicacies. Enjoy some downtime with views of the mangroves and coastal beauty before heading back across the ocean to Shimoni. Optional stops include a brief visit to the historical Shimoni Slave Caves, offering insight into the area’s complex past.
Return in the late afternoon, sun-kissed and soul-fed, with memories of dolphins dancing in the waves and the serene rhythm of the sea.
